a .pump name fixes this. you buy a name — like idrawline.pump — and it gets permanently locked to your wallet on the solana blockchain. instead of sharing your 44-character nightmare address, you tell people your name. they type it, it resolves to your wallet, money goes to the right place.

how to verify someone owns a name
don't trust, verify. here's how.
go to their name page
type theirname.pump into the search bar or go directly to pumpname.netlify.app/name/theirname
check the owner
you'll see an 'owner' field with a wallet address. click it — it goes to solscan where you can see it's a real on-chain account.
that's the proof
the name account exists on solana mainnet. the owner field is set by the blockchain, not by us. it can't be faked.

click 'my domains' in the nav. every .pump name you own will show up with a green 'owned' badge.

or just send someone your name page link: pumpname.netlify.app/name/yourname. they can verify the owner matches your wallet on solscan.
how to transfer a name
selling or giving away a name? easy. go to your name page (click it from my domains), click transfer name, paste the buyer's wallet address, and sign the transaction.
that's it. the name account on-chain now points to their wallet. we don't need to be involved, there's no approval process, and there's no fee from us. settle payment however you want — the name transfer is on-chain, the rest is between you two.
questions people actually ask
is this actually real?
yes. every .pump name is a real account on solana mainnet, created through the SPL name service program (the same one that powers .sol domains). you can verify every single one on solscan. this isn't a database we control — it's the blockchain.
can you (pns) take my name back?
no. once you register a name, the on-chain account is owned by your wallet. we co-sign the creation transaction as the root authority, but after that we have zero control. you could transfer it, sell it, or sit on it forever and we couldn't do anything about it.
what if someone registers a name i wanted?
first to register, first to own. same as any domain name system. if you see a green 'available' badge, grab it before someone else does. short names go fast.
can i sell my name?
yes. go to your name page, click 'transfer name', paste the buyer's wallet address, and sign. the name is now theirs. settle payment however you want — the transfer is on-chain, the deal is between you two.
what does the money go to?
the registration price goes to the pns treasury wallet. rent (the account storage cost) goes to solana to keep your account alive. both are in the same transaction.
what if i lose my wallet?
your name is tied to that wallet's private key. lose the key, lose the name. same as any on-chain asset. keep your seed phrase safe.
